Ranting About School...In school

I am in first block at the moment. And i cant seem to unserstand why teachers can do their job. Here i am in class, the teacher in the back of the class foom kissing his soon to be wife. He is a new teacher and they didnt have a class room for him so guessss what? HE IS USING HIS FIANCES CLASSROOM. How conveniant. Not like they dont see enough of eachother, now she gets to come in on our class time and distract OUR teacher. We are reading The Secret Life of Bees, which we started 3 weeks ago. We are reading out loud, so 3 weeks after we started the book, we are on page 60!!! Im so frustrated with this. He gets to sit back there doing nothing but baby talk to his Fiance, while the students are learning NOTHING. So Joy Joy. I get to gointo English 4 next year not knowing anything. WOO!

Stupidity

You would not believe how irritated I am right now. A lot of adult are truly acting childish these days. My neighborhood totally reminds me of grade school. You always have one bully that ruins everybody fun. Except here is not taking your lunch money. Its suing you! What are these people thinking. PSYCHO. Any way... Adults need to grow up and act their age. People need to learn to let things slide or consult the person that the issue is with..
We moved into a neighborhood so we could have a peaceful place to live. Nope. Not here. Too many people causing problems.
I have came to the depressing conclusion that i will live in the middle of nowhere when i have my own place. Maybe Alaska.

this is a paper i had to write for my nursing class. let me know what you think before i turn it in

Medical Careers—Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse
Olivia Barnwell

Neonatal intensive care unit nurses are registered nurses who specialize in the care of new born babies who are delivered per-term. Most people in the medical field consider the NICU to be the most challenging field in nursing. Every year in the United States more than 5,500 babies are born weighing less than one pound. Sadly, twenty years ago most of these babies would not make it through the first week of life.

To become a NICU nurse you have to go to college to obtain at least your associates degree in nursing, and have at least two years of experience in neonate care. Some things that Neonatal nurses have to do are monitoring the baby’s lungs and heart rate closely, making sure they are receiving the needed nutrition, and recording their growth and development properly for the doctor. The NICU is an intense part of the hospital, because when something goes wrong, you know it can be fatal. The smallest thing can stop or reverse any progress that has been made.

The salary of a neonatal nurse varies, but is anywhere from $51,588 to $83,020, depending on education and job experience. The need for neonatal nurses is forever growing. The need for any kind of nurse is never ending, because there are so many different fields of nursing. There are also many levels of education, for example CNA and RN, RN or LNP. To get the best job you would want to have the highest education possible.

Neonatal nurses generally switch from the NICU to Labor and delivery every month or so. You can choose to stay in on or the other, but most choose to switch back and forth. In labor and delivery you would tend to the mothers needs while she is in labor, and then the baby’s needs when he or she is born. You would monitor the mother through the delivery process, and then take the baby, clean it up, weigh it, record its length, take the first picture and foot print the birth certificate. Then the nurse would then take the baby back to its mother, and notify a lactation specialist.

Many things can occur with a pre-mature baby, here are a few. When a baby is born before 37 weeks gestation, there is always a chance its lungs are not fully developed and ready to take that first breath. In most cases, if the doctor knows the mother is going to deliver early, the mother will be given a steroid that progresses the fetus’s lungs to mature faster. Preemies can also suffer from blindness, due to lack of retinal development. Most people who have preemies have their eyes checked 2-3 times a year. The smallest living baby was born at 8.6 ounces, about the size of an average cell phone. She experienced many developmental delays in the first few months, including breathing, eating, and she had trouble getting enough sleep. Due to modern day medical science, she left the hospital at 5.9 pounds and she was 19 inches long.

The nurses who work in the NICU are strong willed and only want every baby they come in contact with to survive. They work countless hours of overtime to ensure that their assigned baby is taken care of. Many of the nurses get emotionally attached to their patients, and it is bitter sweet when they see them leave the NICU. They also get attached to the families, because they know exactly what they are going through. The every day struggles of working in the NICU are stress full to say the least, but any time they see a child grow an ounce, breath on its own, learn to suck from a bottle, and even be discharged, it’s an extremely rewarding experience.

The Bishop family.

So Ryan and Lisa Bishop are my neighbors. They are always doing nice things for me, ex. taking me out to eat, including me in family activities, bringing my family dinner when my brother got out of the hosp., coming to see me while i was in the hosp., being there for me when i needed them, gining me the chance to help start a church, introducing me to some really nice people, and just plain out being nice to me. I never feel like i give them the Thank you they deserve.Any time im around their family im amazed. The fact that Blake is so kind and caring to Jaden and Aubree, that just seems crazy to me. There have been numerous times when ill see Jaden sitting in Blakes lap watching tv, movies, or playing games. Its amazing to me that they are so close. And Blake LOVES his Aubree to death. Any time she is upset Blake can make one silly look at her and she forgets why shes upset. They are all sweet kids. Here are my favorite moments with each of them..
JADEN-I stayed two nights at their house when my parents were out of town, and right before i went home, he came up to me and asked if i would give him a hug. awwww.
BLAKE-Recently when i took the new puppy over to there house, Blake was absolutly extatic. He is such an animal person and he just loved the fact that he got to see her. he was super sad when i had to take her home.
AUBREE-This baby and I have had some "fun days" as she would say. I think my favorite moment with her would be all the times she has came running to me saying "LIAHH!!!!" Its toooooo cute.
Lisa and Ryan are great too.Lisa has ALWAYS known how to comfort me and make me feel better when im down.(rice sock//baby hugs)She is am amazing mother and all around a great person.Ryan is... well im not exactly sure.He is sooo nice and funny but those words dont seem to describe him well. Through some of his sermons, I have been able to develop a better understanding of god. Which is always good.
So anywho...What im getting at is they are all great people. And I am VERY thankfull to have each one of them in my life.
I love you guys =]

new puppy

My mom has been wanting a tiny puppy ever since my yorkie died a few years back. So she was emailing this woman back and forth about a litter of pomeranian chihuaua (excuse the poor spelling) mix. my mom picked me up from school yesterday and I get in the car ranting about something another and then I glanced in her lap and saw a little ball of fluff! she is 10 oz!!! We named her chloe. I'm on my phone internet so I can't put pictures on at the moment but I will asap :)

The little things in life.

So time and time again i cant help but notice how the smallest actions from another person can change your whole day , or out look on life.

Ex.
  • My brother & I, who rarely see each other much less get along when we do, were home alone when he looked at me , realised i was upset about my up-coming surgery, said "if you want a hug do it now. because i probably wont be home when you go to the hospital". Which coming from him means alot. After all, he is 18 years old.

  • A few weeks ago , i was having a crummy day and i plopped down on our couch with my parents to watch CSI , hoping to get my mind off things. My mom got up to use the restroom and just as she was out of sight, my dad took a pillow and threw it at me. This one tiny move changed my day. It just made me laugh. =)

  • I was walking over to Ryan and Lisa's house, bummed out about something or other, and as i got to their door i heard Aubree (their 2 year old whom i absolutely adore) saying "Liahh!!!!! Unloch it!!!!". which in baby talk = Olivia! unlock it! wanting her mommy to unlock to door for me. i felt all loved and what not. I love that baby =]

  • My boyfriend, who i have been dating on and off for a year, had to work on our one year anniversary. Which was just no good!! He had to work until 11 pm so i figured it would be a waste to plan anything. Then just as I'm getting to bed at about midnight, i hear something tapping on my window. I look out and there he is. Waving with a goofy grin on his face. Cute =P

well i know these things had no impact what so ever on your life. But they all made me step back and look at the big picture . And realise that its the smaller things in life that make the biggest differences.
